At the Maharaja's Palace

It was another tough day at the Spa. For breakfast I had Dosas that I really like (a South India Breakfast treat – long tubular dough that is slightly sour). It is often stuffed, I like mine just plain with chutney.

We were dressed in our whites, it sure is nice to not think of what you have to wear – but for me in LA I don’t really think about either – my outfit of choice is always jeans and a tee shirt. Here it is white cotton.

After breakfast we lounged around the pool waiting for our massages. They actually have a nice boutique, conveniently located between the pool and spa.

After massages we returned to read by the pool. We then experienced our 2nd monsoon rain. It arrived at approximately the same time as the previous days storm and lasted about 30 minutes then the weather cleared.

We spent some time exploring the grounds and went over to see the Maharaja's Palace. He still visits there. He will be the last Maharaja to rule here, he only had a daughter. Ananda sits on his property. We then returned to our room to continue reading. Soon it was time for drinks, dinner, packing for departure from the hotel tomorrow morning, and continuing our Himalaya adventure. Adanda in The Himalayas is a great place to simply veg out and get over your jet lag. This morning I slept till 5am, a new record for me!

Tomorrow we depart for the drive to Kumarhatti, a small town near Solan. We will see what awaits us.
